Overlooking the Susquehanna River, the Central Pennsylvania Federal Executive Association recognized five outstanding federal employees as part of their annual awards ceremony on November 13th, 2014 . Over 60 people, members, non-members and guests, attended a hot buffet luncheon at Dukes Riverside in Wormleysburg to honor all nominees. Twenty-two nominees were received for this year’s award in four different categories; Support Services, Management, Non-Management, and Honor. The following honorees were announced at the luncheon:
Pamela Szymczak, Logistics Specialist – Naval Supply Systems Command
James O’Connor, Deputy Director Navy Food Service, Naval Supply Systems Command
Dr. Michael Lynch, Research Historian, US Army Heritage and Education Center
Sandy Hollinger and Linda Hunsecker, Practical Nurses, Veterans Administration, Lebanon VA Medical Center

Speakers and Special Guests
Mr. John Goodhart, Vice Commander Naval Supply Systems Command, was the master of ceremonies and introduced Senator Pat Vance who spoke about the importance of taking a stand, protecting our communities, and serving the public. Outgoing CPFEA president, Ms. Renee Sigel of the Federal Highway Administration, paid tribute to what it means to work in public service. Ms. Linda Hunsecker, Honor category awardee, described the life threatening event that she and co-worker Sandy Hollinger handled at the VA Medical Center in Lebanon.
